This is an exciting time for Dorset, with plans underway for local government reorganisation which will see the replacement of Dorset’s nine councils with two new ones, Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council and Dorset Council. These new local authorities will have greater influence nationally and be better able to work in the best interests of Dorset’s residents and to build a strong and prosperous future Dorset.
This position will be within the Children’s Social Care legal team and the postholder will act in all child-related proceedings for the new local authority comprising the existing administrative areas of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. This is an exciting time to be joining us as we work towards the bold new vision for Dorset.
We are looking for a solicitor who has a good working knowledge of the law relating to the protection of children to join our Children’s Social Care Legal team. Advocacy experience is essential as the role will require court representation. You will need to have excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills with the ability to manage a full and varied caseload.
If you have any questions about the role, please contact Sian Ballingall, Head of Legal Services, or Helen Youings, CSC Legal – Team Leader, on 01202 451178
