This is an exciting time for Dorset, with plans underway for local government reorganisation which will see the replacement of Dorset’s nine councils with two new ones, Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council and Dorset Council. These new local authorities will have greater influence nationally and be better able to work in the best interests of Dorset’s residents and to build a strong and prosperous future Dorset.
Legal Services is a shared service with officers currently working to support both Bournemouth and Poole Borough Councils and, from 1 April 2019 the new Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch Council. This is an exciting time to be joining us, as we work towards the bold new vision for Dorset.
We are looking for an experienced legal support officer to join our Legal Support team of three to cover maternity leave. You will deliver secretarial and administrative support to each of the five teams in Legal Services. You will have experience of working in any of the key areas of law practiced within the Legal Service, being children’s or adults’ social care, commercial property, civil litigation or commercial. You will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to work accurately, responsively and at pace.
